Citizens Uprooting Racism Bermuda [CURB] extends an invitation to the community for two opportunities to engage with Shelly Tochluk on Thursday, May 30th and Saturday, June 1st.
A spokesperson said, “Citizens Uprooting Racism Bermuda [CURB] is excited to extend an invitation to the community for two enriching opportunities to engage with Shelly Tochluk, a professor at Mount Saint Mary’s University and the acclaimed author of ‘Being White Today: A Roadmap for a Positive Antiracist Life.’
“Free Community Event: CURB will host a free community event featuring Shelly Tochluk at the Bermuda College Library on Thursday, May 30th at 6:30 PM. This event offers a unique chance for community members to hear from Tochluk and gain insights into living an antiracist life.
“Speaker Series Conference: On Saturday, June 1st, CURB will present a transformative day of learning and engagement with the CURB Speaker Series Conference. This event will feature a series of impactful workshops led by Shelly Tochluk and award-winning poet and African-centered educator Melodye Micere Van Putten. Attendees will delve into the complexities of identity, develop practical antiracist strategies, and engage in meaningful dialogue about race and privilege.
