Premier David Burt On USATF Grand Prix
Premier David Burt has hailed the success of the USATF Grand Prix at the Flora Duffy Stadium on Sunday [April 28].
Mr Burt said he enjoyed witnessing the island’s community join together in supporting local stars Dage Minors, who competed in the men’s 1,500 metres, and triple jumper Jah-Nhai Perinchief, and praised those athletes who participated in the Athene Fastest Kid on de Rock and the Special Olympics competitors.
“An eventful day spent at the third USATF Grand Prix with my family at Bermuda’s National Stadium,” he said.
“It was great to see our community come together in support of Bermudian athletes Jah-Nhai Perinchief, Dage Minors, our Special Olympians, and to welcome back world-class athletes to our island.
“Congratulations to Athene’s Fastest Kid on the Rock winners and participants. The future for Bermuda track and field looks very promising.”
