Jonathan Christopher Posts On Sweeney Todd
Bermudian actor Jonathan Christopher took charge of the Instagram of Playbill – an American website for theatregoers – for the final two-day show of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street on Saturday [May 4].
Christopher starred in the Tony nominated revival of the Stephen Sondheim-Hugh Wheeler musical along with his brother Nicholas Christopher at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on Broadway in New York.
Directed by Thomas Kail, the musical was nominated for eight Tony Awards, and won Best Lighting Design of a Musical [Natasha Katz] and Best Sound Design of a Musical [Nevin Steinberg].
The revival officially opened in March last year.
Jonathan Christopher posted on @playbill on Saturday: “Good Morning, Playbill Friends and Followers! I’m Jonathan Christopher and I’ll be taking you along our final two-show day over at Sweeney Todd [on Broadway].
“I have tons of memories to share with you from our time at the Lunt Fontanne, as well as many adventures we’ll embark on today. So, wake on up and follow me to Fleet Street!”
Jonathan was part the ensemble, with his brother Nicholas playing rival barber Adolfo Pirelli and was the understudy for the title role.
