Bermudian goalkeeper Nathan Trott has described helping Vejle secure their top-flight status in Denmark as a “special moment” as he looks to resolve his future at parent club West Ham United.
Despite renewing his contract at the Premier League team by two more years, Trott could leave West Ham this summer, according to reports in England.
West Ham recently appointed Julien Lopetegui as manager after the departure of David Moyes.
Trott returned to Vejle for a second loan spell last summer, playing an integral role as they secured their place in the Superliga this season, finishing eleventh in the 12-team table.
He previously helped them win the NordicBet Liga – the second tier of Danish football – last term.
“I’d like to give a huge thank you to everyone involved at Vejle,” Trott wrote on Instagram yesterday [May 26].
“Especially all the coaching staff and my team-mates who helped me a lot these last two years!
“From Promotion in my first year to helping this team stay in the Superliga will forever be a special moment in my life. Once again, thank you Vejle!”
Trott has had previous loan stints at AFC Wimbledon in Sky Bet League One and French side AS Nancy Lorraine in Ligue 2.
A former England Under-20 international, Trott made his debut for West Ham as a substitute in a 4-0 win over Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup fourth round in January 2021.
