It has been exactly 17 years since Lloyd Holder scored the first-ever goal for the Bermuda Hogges in the United Soccer Leagues [USL] D2 in a 1-1 draw against the Cincinnati Kings at the National Stadium on May 9, 2007.

The Hogges, coached by Kyle Lightbourne, fell behind to a Nathan Micklos goal in the 66th minute before Holder, a PHC Zebras striker, netted three minutes later.

Formed in 2006 by owner Paul Scope, Shaun Goater and Lightbourne, the Hogges spent three seasons in the USL-D2 before the Bermuda Football Association took control of team affairs in 2010, with the outfit switching to the USL Premier Development League before the franchise disbanded in 2012.

Scott Morton coached the side in 2010 before Maurice Lowe took the reins for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

Several of the Hogges players had careers in the professional game, including Nahki Wells, Freddy Hall, Tyrell Burgess and Danté Leverock.
