Traffic Advisories For Pembroke & Southampton

The Ministry of Public Works has issued road traffic notices for a road closure and lane closure in Pembroke Parish and a lane closure in Southampton Parish.

A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the motoring public of several upcoming road closures and lane restrictions:

1. Serpentine Road near Woodland’s Road, Pembroke Parish

Road Closure for Sewer Trench Work

“The Ministry of Public Works announces a road closure on Serpentine Road from the Oxygen Limited driveway to the Woodland’s Road roundabout in Pembroke Parish. This closure is necessary to facilitate sewer trench work.

• Closure Dates: Friday evening, 7 June 2024, to Monday mid-day, 10 June 2024
• Working Hours: 5:00 p.m. on Friday to 12:00 p.m. on Monday [mid-day]

“Please plan your travel accordingly and use alternate routes during this period.

2. Camp Hill near Middle Road, Southampton Parish

Lane Closure for BELCO Trench Works

“The Ministry of Public Works advises a single-lane closure on Camp Hill near Middle Road in Southampton Parish to allow for BELCO trench work.

• Closure Dates: Monday, 10 June 2024, to Friday, 14 June 2024
• Working Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily

“BELCO representatives will manage traffic using barricades, stop-and-go signs, and cones. Motorists are urged to exercise caution and follow the traffic controllers’ directions.

3. Pitt’s Bay Road, Pembroke Parish

Lane Closure for Outerbridge Building Demolition

“The Ministry of Public Works announces a single-lane closure near 75 Pitt’s Bay Road in Pembroke Parish for the demolition of the Outerbridge building.

• Closure Dates: Wednesday, 12 June 2024, to Friday, 9 August 2024
• Working Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily

“To accommodate westbound traffic, the north lane [into town] will be closed, and parking will be prohibited in the south lane [out of town].

“The Ministry apologises for any inconvenience these necessary works may cause and appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation. Please refer to the attached official notices for further details.”
