Video: Sunday June 30th “Good News” Spotlight

News that Jarreau Daniels on attained several professional certifications, KraftHeinz and Butterfield & Vallis presented a cheque to The Reading Clinic for $4,205.18, the Bermuda Senior Golfers’ Society donated $4,600 to P.A.L.S., Chubb Bermuda welcomed Kiara Burcher, Alexis Lodge, and Amir Thomas to their annual Chubb Select Internship Programme, and the 2024 Convex End-to-End awarded a total of $240,000 to Bermuda charities were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.

In additional good news, Jarryd Simmons and Phill Beach returned home with titles from the TBA Classic Muay Thai World Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, Khano Smith was named USL Coach of Week, Carina won the St. David’s Lighthouse Newport Race, siblings Emma and Jack Harvey will represent Bermuda in swimming at the Olympic Games in Paris, and Dage Minors ran the season’s best time in a 1500m event.

Other good news stories included BZS and volunteers from Chubb working to create a suitable environment in preparation for the replanting of one of the island’s largest mangrove forests, BEST announcing that Justus Anderson has been awarded the first Stuart Hayward Internship opportunity, and Island Innovation announcing that Bermuda’s Noelle Young has been selected for the 2024 Caribbean Climate Justice Leaders Academy.
