Applications Open For Golf Volunteer Program
“The Butterfield Bermuda Championship’s BF&M Volunteer Programme for adults and juniors is now accepting online applications.
A spokesperson said, “The tournament returns for its sixth year from November 11th to November 17th at Port Royal Golf Course, Southampton.
“Over 600 volunteers will be required to fill positions on 17 committees, ranging from gallery management ambassadors, walking scorers, and TV spotters, to merchandise, pro-am, product distribution and new committees like Fan Activations and Player Transportation. A full list of committees can be viewed on the tournament website and interested volunteers should visit https://trusteventsolutions.com/event/126/home to apply. Early submission is encouraged, particularly for any specified preferences.”
Abigail Clifford, Group President and CEO of BF&M shared “For the past five years, BF&M has proudly sponsored the Volunteer Programme for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. This prestigious event owes its remarkable success to the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of all the volunteers, who help create an unforgettable experience for both players and spectators. Thank you to all volunteers – the essential champions of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship!”
The spokesperson said, “The BF&M Volunteer Programme is open to anyone 18 years of age and older. Golf knowledge isn’t required and the tournament has a variety of opportunities for both golfers and non-golfers alike.
“Young people aged 13–17 also have the opportunity to volunteer as a Standard Bearer, an exciting role of walking inside-the-ropes with a player group while carrying a two-sided scoring standard. This role is available on the Saturday and Sunday of tournament week. It is a popular choice and positions fill up quickly.”
“We have seen such great success and growth within our volunteer programme thanks to BF&M and the community. Once again we welcomed the largest volunteer force to the event in 2023, which speaks to the overall growth of the event.” said Tournament Director, Danielle Carrera, “We encourage volunteers to register and donate their on behalf of a charity to maximize impact. Register early, sign up with friends, and come and enjoy the fun!”
The spokesperson said, “Volunteers are asked to work a minimum of three shifts, which range from four to six hours each, depending on the committee. There is the option for volunteers to have an even greater impact by chosing to donate their time on behalf of a registered charity, which will see the chosen charity receive $200.
“Back by popular demand, this year volunteers will enjoy an official tournament polo and tournament jacket courtesy of BF&M as well as a tournament hat, volunteer credentials providing access to the event at all times, BF&M accessories, lunch on volunteer days, and an invitation to the BF&M Volunteer Appreication Party.
“Interested volunteers can apply now and charities can email Diaje to learn more about getting involved. For more information on the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, visit www.butterfieldbdachampionship.com/bfm-volunteer.”
