Bermuda Captive Conference Returns
Now in its 20th year, the Bermuda Captive Conference returns, continuing its tradition of examining trends in the global captive market and bringing together industry professionals for thought leadership, education, and connectivity.
A spokesperson said, “This year’s theme, Navigating Captive Horizons, highlights the dynamic and resilient nature of Bermuda’s captive Sector.
“A number of captive owners will be featured on this year’s agenda, including the University of Pennsylvania, Sensible Weather and Morgan Stanley International Insurance, as well as a number of others that will be announced in the coming weeks.
“Panel discussions explore future trends and strategic responses necessary to adapt and thrive in an ever-evolving global market. Key topics include, regulatory updates, enhancements to Bermuda’s segregated account companies, investment strategies for captives, medical stop loss and employee benefits, mutuals and more.
“Attendees will also get a snapshot into Bermuda’s fiscal horizons with Jennifer Masters, Senior Vice President-Bermuda Captive Leader, Brown & Brown as she moderates a panel that explores the impact of implementing Bermuda’s Corporate Income Tax [CIT]. Expert panelists include Crystal Pittendrigh, Tax Director at PwC Bermuda, Sarah Robey, Tax Partner at KPMG in Bermuda, Michael Regan, Tax Consultant to the Government of Bermuda’s Ministry of Finance and Donay Viljoen, Tax Leader at Forvis Mazars in Bermuda.
“The event is also bringing back its successful ‘Bermuda Shorts’ series, featuring parametric experts, Rob Walling, Principal, Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, Dr. Raveem Ismail, Head of Parametric Underwriting, Africa Specialty Risks [ASR] and Tom Johansmeyer, Global Head of Index Classes at Price Forbes Re, who will focus on the use of parametric triggers in captive strategies and how parametrics can help hedge geopolitical volatility, fill coverage gaps left by exclusions and limited capacity.
