Community Prayer Vigil To Be Held On Friday
The Salvation Army will be holding a Community Prayer Vigil on Friday evening [July 12] in the Roberts Avenue and Friswell’s Hill area.
A spokesperson said, “As you know, the last few days have been unnerving to say the least. We are left grappling with yet another tragedy and wondering what we, the church, can do to shine some light into the darkness that seems so overwhelming these days.
:With that thought in mind, on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 7:15 PM, The Salvation Army North Street Citadel will be gathering for a Community Prayer Vigil at the corner of Roberts Avenue and Friswell’s Hill [just down from the Salvation Army Regional Office and next to the Seventh Day Adventist church]. This is the neighborhood that is still struggling to come to terms with recent tragic events.
“We are extending an invitation to the community to join us for this gathering to show some love to our neighbors. It will be an informal gathering where we will share prayer together, listen to some uplifting music, and be available to converse and pray with residents in the neighborhood.
“Let’s come together as a community of believers and pray and share the love of Jesus with those who are hurting at this time. Please make this event a matter of prayer even now today. Thank you in advance for your prayerful support and we look forward to seeing you there.”
