Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Owen Darrell, met with members of Bermuda’s Olympic Team – Adriana Penruddock [sailing], Jack Harvey, [swimming] and Emma Harvey [swimming] — as they prepare for the upcoming games.
A Government spokesperson said, “Recently as a show of support, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Sen. Owen Darrell JP, met and engaged with members of Bermuda’s 2024 Paris Olympic Team. On Thursday July 11, Minister Darrell welcomed to the Cabinet Office Adriana Penruddock [sailing], Jack Harvey, [swimming] and Emma Harvey [swimming]. During the occasion, the Bermuda Olympic Association presented Minister Darrell with Official Team Bermuda Paris Olympic Pins.
“And on Friday July 12, Minister Darrell visited the National Sports Centre’s pool to observe Emma and Jack’s Olympic training in person. The Minister was joined by young people from the island’s summer day camps, as well as past Olympians Katura Horton-Perinchief, and Clarence “Nicky” Saunders. Both former Olympians discussed with Jack, Emma, and our young people what to expect at the Olympics. Also, during the occasion Jack and Emma met with the young ones and shared some words of inspiration with them.”
Minister Darrell said, “We are so excited about the upcoming Paris Olympics and the amazing sports talent that will be representing Bermuda. It was important for me to demonstrate my support for Team Bermuda, and we were pleased to welcome a few members of the team to the Cabinet Office grounds to extend our best wishes to them.
“I’m of the view that the Olympic Games are an occasion which brings out the best in people. It’s an occasion where we unite as a country and demonstrate national pride in our athletes. It was such a great feeling watching Emma and Jack train, and having our young people there to witness this was just inspiring for all of us. Bermuda has had a difficult and solemn week, so being able to embrace our Olympic athletes and share this moment with our youth was heartfelt for me.
“We are less than two weeks away from the Olympic Games and our Government has invested significantly in our elite athletes. We’ve let them know that they are supported. My hope is that all of Bermuda will cheer on Jack and Emma and all our athletes, including our Olympic Champion Flora Duffy. Our athletes continue to shine on the world stage, and we are so proud of all their achievements.”

….. and let’s not forget about our PARA-lympians !
As if the government really supports our olympians. Views it as white mans sport. Only football, cricket and track pass muster, until it suits them. And look how well we are doing in football and cricket, the worst for decades.
You need to find more Tokens for the OBA mate and the voters might see it as a black party. NOPE LOL
