The U.S. Consulate recently hosted their Independence Day Reception to “celebrate the the anniversary of the independence of the United States and the special U.S.-Bermuda relationship.”
A spokesperson said, “The U.S. Consulate hosted its annual Independence Day Reception on Friday, June 28th. U.S. Consul General Karen Grissette welcomed government representatives, international business leaders, partner organizations, sponsors, and special guests to the official residence to celebrate the the anniversary of the independence of the United States and the special U.S.-Bermuda relationship.
“Tonight, we celebrate the longstanding, special relationship between the United States and Bermuda. A partnership built on our common values; including freedom, equality, the rule of law, and democracy,” said the U.S. Consul General.
“It is also a celebration of our shared interests, accomplishments, and continued collaboration…as my U.S. Consulate team and I worked to advance and protect U.S. interests, we also strengthened ties with Bermuda’s international business sector, collaborated on security and law enforcement initiatives with our Bermuda and UK partners, and expanded higher education opportunities in the United States.
“Bermudians graciously welcomed my family to this island, and I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to forge an even closer partnership between the people of the United States and stakeholders across the island. We have accomplished so much in the past three years, but we certainly didn’t do it alone.
“I can truly say that serving as Bermuda’s American Consul General has been the highlight of my diplomatic career so far, expanding connections ad building a strong future for the United States and Bermuda.”

I wonder, how many D U I drivers were caught that night??
I predict that no impaired drivers were caught leaving the U.S. Consulate’s Independence Day Reception. Not because no one drank and drove, but because the Bermuda Police Service gave up enforcing traffic laws a couple of decades ago.
With over 50% of adult persons suffering from the adicted to Alcohol which endorses the fact that Bermuda’s society has a big problem with Alcohol.
We know the practice of consumption kind of impares the brain shortens life make people do silly things which further contributes to loose tongues .
Time has come to recognize and acknoledge the fact that Bermuda has a very big problem with Alcohol which we all know can wreck lived and ruin families all they need to do is ask for help.
May be we could be mistaken by the possibility of an illusion that Bermuda is not caugh up with unsolable problem.
Sure sets glowing examples as they travel from one hang over to another .
