Traffic Advisory For Bicycle Race On July 7
The Ministry of Public Works announced a traffic advisory for the Bermuda Bicycle Association Road Race on July 7th.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the Bermuda Bicycle Association Road Race will occur on Sunday, July 7th, 2024, between 8:00 am and 10:30 am. The following roads will be affected:
“Race Route: The bicycle race commences and concludes at the Prospect Police Headquarters on Fort Hill Road. The participants exit the compound, turn left, and proceed on Fort Hill Road to Middle Road. They turn left onto Middle Road and continue until the intersection of Middle Road and North Shore Road. The participants proceed West on North Shore Road, turn left onto Blackwatch Pass, and then left onto Marsh Folly Road. They continue on Palmetto Road to the roundabout and exit onto Frog Lane. The participants exit onto BFA Way, turn right onto Headquarters Hill, and proceed to the finish line at the Prospect Police Headquarters.
“Traffic Control: The bicycle race will commence on Sunday, July 7th, 2024, at 8:00 am and is expected to conclude by 10:30 am. All motorists are expected to use caution and to avoid collisions with race participants. The race route will be under the control of Police Officers and Race Marshals. Motorists must follow the instructions from the Police Officers and Race Marshals to assist with traffic control for this event.
“Road Closures: There will be no roads closed to traffic while the bicycle race takes place.
“The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the motoring public and apologises for any inconvenience that may result. Should there be any questions regarding this event, please direct queries to the attention of the race representative, Peter Dunne at 704-8614.
“In addition, the Bermuda police are hereby authorised to “Close off” streets or portions of streets and authorise parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.”
