Traffic Restrictions For Wall Work On Scaur Hill
“An essential project required to maintain the area’s safety and integrity is expected to commence on 30 September 2024 on Scaur Hill, Sandys Parish,” the government said, adding that “the work is anticipated to take six months.”
A Government spokesperson said, “As a result, there will be traffic restrictions in the area during this period. The construction involves replacing an approximate 230-foot length of retaining wall along the foreshore between Ledgelets Lane and Lantana Road.”
“To ensure public safety, a temporary one-way traffic system will be implemented. Details of the proposed system will be communicated in due course. Special arrangements may be required for 40-foot tractor-trailers and heavy loads.
“The Ministry is focused on minimising disruption and ensuring the safety of all road users. As the project progresses, further updates will be provided.”
Minister of Public Works Lt/Col David Burch stated, “The replacement of this retaining wall is crucial to ensure the safety and stability of Scaur Hill. We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation during this time.”
