Accountant Association Join As Learning Partner

The Ministry of Education announced that the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants [ACCA] has joined as a Learning Partner.

A Government spokesperson said, ” This partnership is a key component of the mission to transform teaching and learning through Education Reform. This joint initiative with the ACCA, in collaboration with The Berkeley Institute, the Department of Education, CPA Bermuda, and Bermuda College, aims to increase the number of local finance and accounting professionals in Bermuda.

“Starting this September, ACCA’s Foundation level qualification will be available to senior school students in the Bermuda Public School System’s Financial and Insurance Services Signature Learning Programme’s Accountancy Strand.

“The next phase of the ACCA partnership will extend the programme to all high school graduates in Bermuda.

By offering ACCA’s Foundation level qualification, we are equipping our students with the skills and global certifications needed to excel in the fields of finance and accounting. This initiative not only enhances educational opportunities but also strengthens our local workforce, which in turn supports Bermuda’s economic growth. I look forward to witnessing the positive impact that this partnership will have on our students and in our community.”

“Students will begin their ACCA journey at the Foundation Level Qualification, also known as Foundations in Accountancy [FiA]. FiA is a suite of industry-based qualifications that provides students with a broad understanding of accounting fundamentals and the essential techniques needed to start building a rewarding career in business and finance.
