The Bermuda Bicycle Association [BBA] announced the Junior Cycling Team that will be representing Bermuda at the Junior Caribbean Road Championships, taking place in Saint Martin on August 10th and 11th.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Bicycle Association [BBA] is pleased to announce that our Junior Cycling Team will be representing Bermuda at the prestigious Junior Caribbean Road Championships, taking place in Saint Martin on August 10th and 11th. This event will see our talented young cyclists compete against the best junior riders from across the Caribbean region.
“The Bermuda team includes three riders in the Pre-Junior category: Zachery Moniz, Andrew Thomas, and Skye Ferguson. In the Junior category, Charlotte Millington will proudly wear Bermuda’s colours. Although Keon Stevenswas also named to the team, last-minute issues unfortunately prevented him from traveling with the team. The team remains focused and determined as they embark on this exciting challenge.
“The Junior Caribbean Road Championships will feature two challenging events: the Individual Time Trial on Saturday, August 10th, and the Road Race on Sunday, August 11th. These races will test the skills, endurance, and mental toughness of our cyclists as they navigate the demanding courses of Saint Martin.

“Supporting the team in Saint Martin are team manager Darren Glassford and mechanic Chequan Richardson, who are essential to the team’s success. They handle everything from laundry and meals to attending race briefings, ensuring athletes are where they need to be and when, maintaining the bikes, and supporting all aspects of traveling with youth athletes. Their dedication ensures that our young cyclists can focus on their performance, knowing that all other needs are meticulously taken care of.
“Bermuda has a proud history of success at the Junior Caribbean Championships, and this year’s team is eager to build on that legacy. Competing on an international stage is a tremendous opportunity for our young athletes to gain valuable experience.
“We are incredibly proud of our junior team and confident that they will represent Bermuda with excellence and sportsmanship,” said Peter Dunne, President of the Bermuda Bicycle Association. “The Junior Caribbean Road Championships provide an important platform for our cyclists to compete at a high level, and we are excited to see what they can achieve.”
“The Bermuda Bicycle Association, as the national governing body for cycling in Bermuda and a registered charity, is committed to fostering the development of cycling in our community. Supporting our junior athletes in competitions like the Junior Caribbean Road Championships is a key part of that mission.
“We invite all Bermudians to join us in cheering on Zachery, Andrew, Skye, and Charlotte as they take on this exciting challenge. Stay tuned for updates on their progress and results as they represent Bermuda with pride.”
