Manager Delighted With Footballer Kane Crichlow
Bermuda forward Kane Crichlow made his debut for Chelmsford City in a 2-1 defeat away to Slough Town in their opening game of the National League North season at the weekend.
Crichlow, who joined Chelmsford from Bishop Stortford this summer, started the match and came close to scoring, hitting the crossbar in the 23rd minute.
“We are delighted to sign Kane, he has been with us since the start of the season and has got better and better each training session and each game,” Robbie Simpson, Chelmsford manager, told the Chelmsford website.
“In all fairness to him, he is someone that we just could not ignore, holding a great pedigree from Watford and he has a taste of step two last year and scored five in one game as well.
“He knows where the back of the net is and is really intelligent in his play, and because of that, he can literally play anywhere across the front or in the middle.
“Every good squad needs a player like that, who can play in a number of different positions, and Kane certainly has the technical ability and the athleticism and footballing brain to do that.
“He has done so well in pre-season for us that we are absolutely delighted that he has decided to accept our offer.
“We are really looking forward to him being part of our squad!”
Chelmsford are at home to Hampton and Richmond Borough on Saturday [August 17].
