Passengers Transferred After Driver Arrested
A 59-year-old minibus driver was arrested and passengers were transferred to another vehicle, with the incident going viral on social media as passengers posted images.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 8:50 a.m. on Monday, August 5th, 2024 police officers had cause to stop a minibus driven by a 59-year-old male, on Middle Road Southampton.
“Upon being advised of the reason for him being stopped and that he was subject to being searched, the subject immediately ran off.
“However, he was apprehended a short time later and arrested for obstruction under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
“There were a number of passengers on-board the minibus at the time. They were subsequently transferred to another vehicle and transported to their destination.”
