Captain Terryn Fray Enjoys Perfect Start
[Written by Stephen Wright]
Terryn Fray enjoyed a perfect start to his tenure as Somerset’s Cup Match captain.
The opening batter, who served as vice-captain to Jordan DeSilva for several years, showed his leadership qualities in Somerset’s 226-run win over challengers St George’s at the Somerset Cricket Club on Friday [August 2].
Fray also contributed with the bat, scoring 51 in his side’s first innings and 48 in the second.
His opening partnership with Kamau Leverock showed massive potential, with their contrasting styles well-suited.
The pair put on 169 runs for the first wicket in Somerset’s first innings to lay firm foundations for their team’s convincing victory.
