Penruddocke ‘Great Experience’ At Games
[Written by Stephen Wright]
Bermuda sailor Adriana Penruddocke said she gained valuable experiences on the water during her women’s dinghy campaign at the Olympic Games in Paris.
The 24-year-old, who was making her Olympic debut, completed the ten-race series today [August 5], finishing 42nd in race nine before the tenth race was cancelled because of a lack of wind at the Marseille Marina in southern France.
Penruddocke enjoyed a superb first half of the series, including finishes of fourteenth and fifteenth before the conditions became more challenging for her.
She came 36th overall with a total of 270 points.
“I’ve had a great experience and can’t wait for the next Olympic cycle,” Penruddocke told Bernews.
Shaun Priestley, her coach, added: “The first half of the week was exceptional, and Adriana had a lot of fun in those moments.
“The second half of the week became more challenging as the race committee found [holding the races] more challenging.
“Again, these are great learning experiences to hopefully take forward to the Los Angeles Games in 2028.”
