Bermuda Captive 20th Anniversary Event

The Bermuda Captive Network is celebrating the 20th anniversary event of the Bermuda Captive Conference with a “stellar roster of sessions, speakers, sponsors and networking. ”

A spokesperson said, “Organisers are expecting to welcome in the region of 400 attendees to next week’s event, hosted at the newly renovated PIER 6 in Hamilton, Bermuda, on September 9th and 10th, 2024.

“Marking two decades of excellence, this year’s conference is set to be the most dynamic and insightful yet, bringing together industry leaders and professionals from around the globe for thought leadership, education, and invaluable networking opportunities.

“The 2024 conference, themed ‘Navigating Captive Horizons,’ features a comprehensive agenda filled with keynote presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions that explore the latest trends, challenges, and innovations in the captive insurance industry.

“The carefully designed event agenda was developed in partnership with members of the Bermuda Captive Network who formed this year’s Agenda Committee. Each session has been thoughtfully crafted to address the most pressing topics in the captive industry, with a strong focus on innovative strategies and the robust regulatory framework that Bermuda offers to captives globally.

A highlight of sessions includes:

  • “Maximising Your Captive’s Value & Parametric Innovations: Highlighting the importance of strategic planning and how collaboration between service providers and risk managers can enhance the long-term success of captives, as well as another series of Bermuda Shorts that offer perspectives on how parametric solutions can address coverage gaps, support underserved markets, and manage geopolitical risks.
  • “[Re]insurance Markets: Navigating Capacity, Rates, and Beyond: A highly anticipated session that maps the latest trends in the [re]insurance market, including capacity adjustments and rate changes, and their implications for captive owners.
  • “Fiscal Horizons: Exploring the Effect of Corporate Income Tax in Bermuda: A must-see discussion that provides insights into Bermuda’s upcoming Corporate Income Tax and its impact on the captive insurance market, with guidance on steps captives need to take.

  • “MacroEconomist View: How Global Events Shape Captive Strategies: The session finale comes in the form of a discussion from global economic experts, as they provide insights on how world economic trends impact captive insurance strategies and how organizations can adapt to optimise risk management and financial planning.

“Additionally, at the opening of the event on September 9th, the Bermuda Captive Conference will proudly announce this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to honor an outstanding leader whose career has greatly advanced the industry and its global reputation.
