Joshua Joseph Scores In Thomas College Draw
Four Bermuda players and their Thomas College Men’s Soccer teammates matched up against the University of New England Nor’easters, playing to to a 1-1 draw.
Cody Robinson, Isaiah Francis, Tre Burgess, and Joshua Joseph all played in the match, with the Thomas College goal coming from Joseph.
The University of New England started the game quickly, generating two off-target shots in the first seven minutes.
In the 18th minute Andrew Hodgins gathered the ball off of a Thomas College corner kick, but his shot sailed high of the University of New England goal.
Shots from Robinson and Craig Coventry forced two good saves out of the University of New England goalkeeper in the 29thand 31st minutes, keeping the game 0 – 0.
In the 41st minute Jamie Fonseca found William Glenney, who then played the ball to Joseph, who scored to take a 1 – 0 lead.
Thomas College went into halftime on a positive note, generating some good opportunities toward the end of the first half.
Three minutes after halftime the University of New England were awarded a penalty kick, and it was converted to tie things up at 1 – 1.
In the 57th minute Jacob Nisby’s shot looked like it was heading to the bottom right corner, but it was saved once again by the University of New England goalkeeper.
In the 70th minute Thomas College had a few more opportunities. Joseph’s shot sailed wide, and Kevroy Spence’s shot was saved to keep things at 1 – 1.
