OBA Updates Site With Vance Campbell In C9

The One Bermuda Alliance has updated the candidate section on their website; now listing Vance Campbell under Constituency 9 Smith’s West, which is a change from their previous listing which showed Vic Ball.

This follows after Mr Campbell — who was initially elected as a PLP MP in 2020 in C9 Smith’s West — resigned from Cabinet earlier last month and subsequently announced that he was resigning from the PLP and joining the OBA.

Since the one seat system started in 2003, the UBP won the seat twice [with 56% - 58% of the vote], the OBA won it twice [with 57% - 66% of the vote] and the PLP have won it once [with 51.7% of the vote].

Prior to the PLP winning the seat in 2020, Trevor Moniz had won the seat four times, twice as an OBA MP and twice as a UBP MP. In the 2020 general election, Mr Campbell then won the seat in 2020 as a PLP MP; defeating Vic Ball, who was running for the OBA.

The date for the next general election has not been set at this time; it has to be held by February 2026.

Bernews do you know what the OBA has done with Vic Ball? He certainly had gain enough momentum to be the next MP.

Well Vic is still writing pieces for the OBA so he must still be on board. Wonder where he will end up though. Most of their safe or winnable seats have already been assigned, however they clearly aren’t beyond moving someone out.
