Ryley Tannock Called To Bermuda Bar

Appleby announced that Ryley Tannock was called to the Bermuda Bar before Chief Justice Larry Mussenden.

A spokesperson said, “Ryley completed both the Graduate Diploma of Law and the Legal Practice Course at The University of Law. Prior to that, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Saint Mary’s University with a double major in Criminology and Psychology. Ryley received the 2022 Appleby Legal Education Scholarship and interned with the firm in 2022.

“Ryley began his pupillage with Appleby in September 2023. In his first-year of the programme he completed three, four-month seats, rotating from the Insurance, Corporate and Dispute Resolution departments, where he was mentored by Josephine Noddings [Counsel], Jane Walker [Senior Associate] and James Batten [Counsel], respectively.

“Ryley is currently in his second year of Appleby’s legal trainee programme. He recently began his final seat, which is 12-months, in the Dispute Resolution department under the continued mentorship of James Batten.”

Mr. Tannock said, “After a long journey I am honored and humbled to be welcomed into the fraternity that is the Bermuda Bar. I have learned from individuals at all levels of the totem pole and I take all their advice and remarks in stride. I am deeply grateful for every person and organisation who has had a part in this journey bringing me to where I am today, and for every opportunity that has been placed before me.

“In this new era, I look forward to continued growth as an individual and a professional and to serving the community of Bermuda in a most esteemed manner.”
