Tennis: Phillips & Mallory Compete On Day 3
Trey Mallory and his UNC Wilmington men’s teammates and Daniel Phillips and his Arizona State men’s teammates were back in action on day three of the Southern intercollegiate Championships at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
In singles, Mallory lost Mikey Anderson from Arizona State in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, while Gabriele Datei from Georgia State defeated Phillips in straight sets 6-0, 7-5.
Phillips would also fall in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 to Rohan Sachdev from Georgia Tech.
In the south doubles semi-finals, Phillips and Constantinos Koshis defeated Kish Arora and Richard Biagiotti from Georgia Tech 7-6. Mallory and Lukas Steffen fell in the Central semi-final to Filipe Costa and Cyrus Mahjoob from Georgia 6-2.
Phillips and Koshis were due to face Nicolas Kotzen, and Sachin Palta in the final, however rain prevented the match from taking place.
