BCHC’s AXA Man On The Run Set For Nov 10
The Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre announced the AXA XL Man on the Run 5K on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Warwick Academy, aiming to raise awareness and funds for men’s cancer care.
A spokesperson said, “Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre is proud to announce the return of the highly anticipated AXA XL Man on the Run 5K, scheduled for Sunday, November 10th, 2024. With AXA XL Bermuda Ltd. as the title sponsor and Butterfield & Vallis Ltd. as the supporting sponsor, this event unites men across the island to raise awareness and funds for men’s cancer care.
“The races will start at 8:30 AM at Warwick Academy, drawing male participants from all over Bermuda for a meaningful cause. The AXA XL Man on the Run 5K invites men of all ages to participate, offering an opportunity to combine fitness with purpose. Beyond the race itself, proceeds go toward the Equal Access Fund, which ensures that every man in Bermuda can access essential cancer screenings and treatments, regardless of financial circumstances.”
“This race is more than just a 5K; it’s an opportunity for men in our community to come together and support each other in the fight against cancer,” said Clifford Roberts, Man on the Run Committee Chair. “By participating, you’re helping to ensure that no man faces cancer alone.”
The spokesperson said, “The event is open to runners of all levels, from seasoned athletes to first-timers, in a spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition.
School Spirit Challenge
“This year, schools are invited to join the effort to promote men’s health. The school with the highest number of participants will receive a special School Spirit Plaque, recognizing their community involvement and dedication to this cause. It’s a fun and meaningful way for students to come together, support men’s health, and inspire others to lead healthier lives.
Workplace Challenge Plaque
“Companies can also get involved by participating in the Workplace Challenge. The business with the most registrants will receive the Workplace Challenge Plaque, demonstrating their commitment to fostering a healthier workforce and encouraging open conversations about men’s health.
