BELCO To Hold Apprenticeship Open House
BELCO will hold an Apprenticeship Programme open house on Tuesday, October 8 from 5.30pm to 7.00pm.
BELCO’s Training and Development Manager, Shaun Roberts, said, “Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited today announced an Apprenticeship Programme open house that will be held on Tuesday, October 8 at the ReGen Showroom at 25 Serpentine Road from 5.30pm to 7.00pm.”
A spokesperson said, “Hosted by Nadir Wade, Managing Director of Bulk Generation, the open house will be an information sharing session where anyone interested in applying for the Programme can learn more about how to apply, the roles they can fill and ask any questions they may have. Also, in attendance will be BELCO’s Training and Development Manager Shaun Roberts, along with two current apprentices who will provide their experiences of the apprenticeship program.
“The four-year programme offers successful applicants the opportunity to earn while training towards a successful and rewarding career blending technical training and academic study. Work-based learning helps apprentices kick start their careers in Bermuda’s evolving energy industry. The deadline for applications is Friday, October 18.
“Upon completion of the programme, successful candidates shall be assessed for progression to graded positions and placed in designated areas of the business for the foreseeable future. Apprentices will obtain skillsets necessary to fill various roles within the company, including electrical fitters, mechanical fitters, line workers, and electrical jointers.
