Bermuda Players Help Thomas Win Again

Four Bermuda players helped Thomas College win their fifth straight game with a 3 – 0 win over the University of Maine Presque.

Cody Robinson, Shane Robinson, Tre Burgess, and Joshua Joseph all started in the match, with Burgess scoring for the team.

Thomas College got off to a quick start, as in the fourth minute Joseph sent in a cross that found Burgess, who scored to give Thomas College a 1 – 0 lead.

Despite the early goal Maine Presque had the better of the chances over the next 20 minutes.

Thomas College goalkeeper Christopher Boucher was forced to make two good saves to preserve the lead.

In the 36th minute Thomas College nearly scored again, as shots from Micky Woodrow and Oxborne Tettey in quick succession both had to be saved.

Thomas College were able to start the second half well, forcing two good saves out of the Maine Presque goalkeeper early on.

In the 55th minute David Ivarsson scored to give Thomas College a 2 – 0 lead. This was Ivarsson’s fourth straight game with a goal and has scored eight in the past four games.

Thomas College found another breakthrough in the 73rd minute, as Joseph sent in another good cross that found Woodrow, scoring on the near post to make it 3 – 0.

Neither team was able to generate any clear-cut opportunities for the rest of the match.

As a result, Thomas College would continue their win streak to five games, putting them at 4-0 against NAC competition.
