Hendricksons, Parsons & Wilson To Be Honoured

Robert Wilson of Gombey Evolution Troupe, Dennis Parsons of Places Gombeys and the late Lawrence “Stickers” Hendrickson Jr and Carolyn “Granny” Hendrickson will be honored at this evening’s Bermuda Gombey Festival, which is set to start at 5pm at the Botanical Gardens.

A Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Culture is thrilled to pay tribute to Gombey leaders at this year’s Gombey Festival! This year, we celebrate Robert Wilson of Gombey Evolution Troupe, finally recognized after 2023’s rain cancellation. Joining him are 2024 honourees Dennis Parsons of Places Gombeys and, posthumously, Lawrence “Stickers” Hendrickson Jr. and Carolyn “Granny” Hendrickson of H&H Gombeys. Let’s come together to honour their legacy and the vibrant spirit of our Gombey heritage!
