MSA Pay Tribute To Ethan Arruda
MSA paid tribute to the late Ethan Arruda and asked the community to “please keep Ethan’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this unimaginable loss.”
The 17-year-old died following a stabbing incident during a house party that was taking place at a residence on Devonshire Bay Road this weekend.
“Our MSA family is devastated at the loss of our beloved student, Ethan Arruda, Class of 2025,” a post on the school’s social media account said. ”This morning, our students, faculty and staff gathered to pray with Bishop Wes Spiewak to remember and honor Ethan. In such a difficult time, we seek comfort in our faith and our school family.
“Our counselor has been joined at MSA by counselors from other schools to support students and staff who are completely shaken by this senseless act. The counselors will be onsite at MSA for the rest of the week to help students process this horrific tragedy.
“Tributes poured in from our student body. From just a few of the many tributes, you can see what a special young man Ethan was and how much he was loved: ‘Ethan, you were the kindest and sweetest person. Every time we talked, you would make me laugh. Sleep in peace….’Rest easy… forever loved….’You were the most joyful and kindest soul here…”

“The MSA family is a warm and close-knit community,” Mrs. Machado stated. “We are here for Ethan’s family and each other with love and support.”
The police previously said, “If you were at this party, we would like to hear from you. If your child was at this party, we would like to hear from you. If you have any video footage or other recorded images from the party, we would like to hear from you.
