Salvation Army Urgently Seeks Donations
The Salvation Army is “calling on businesses and community members to join them in collecting and donating food and pantry staples [including non-perishable canned, tin, or boxed food supplies] or monetary donations to provide additional assistance and help them reach November.”
A spokesperson said, “The Salvation Army North Street Family Services, dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations, is reaching out to the Bermuda community for immediate support as it faces a critical financial challenge. Due to increased demand for their local services, they have maxed out their monthly budget and will need to temporarily close for the week if they cannot secure vital donations.
“The Salvation Army is calling on businesses and community members to join them in collecting and donating food and pantry staples [including non-perishable canned, tin, or boxed food supplies] or monetary donations to provide additional assistance and help them reach November.”
“Our team has tried to be creative with resources, but we are observing a concerning increase in the number of those seeking assistance,” says Captain Dennis Maybury, Public Relations Officer. “The situation is critical as this is the first time we are experiencing a shortfall in donations at this time of year and finding it difficult to keep up with the need.”
“With only a week left in October, it is essential that community members act quickly. We urge everyone to consider making a donation to help us bridge this gap and keep our doors open,” says Maybury.

The spokesperson said, “When you support The Salvation Army, you are giving hope to thousands of people across Bermuda and ensuring that no one is alone in their struggles. Each donation helps provide meals, shelter, and essential services to those in need.”
While the work of SA is admirable. I have to ask what percentage of donations go directly to those in need and more importantly, how much of what is raised (by percentage) is sent overseas to their headquarters in Canada?
Cost of living is shameful and all down to the PLP. Remember this when you vote in the coming months.
It is not “all down to the PLP”. Much of our current cost of living crisis is down to rampant inflation due to the effects of the global pandemic in 2020, but there is also the locally generated cost of paying interest on nearly $4 billion in current account debt in addition to the billions of dollars in unfunded Government pension liabilities
Well, the current local $4 billion debt is MOST DEFINITELY due to the PLP!
Idiots like you are why the UBP changed its name to OBA. That white boogey man is another reason why you have black surrogates posing as front men and women.
“why the UBP changed its name to OBA”
The UBP did NOT change its name to OBA.
Are you deliberately lying or are you a paid political troll who knows nothing about Bermuda?
Bermuda has told you time and time what they think about the racist UBPoba. Now go change the name again or form a worthless opposition coalition party. You reek of desperation as you troll on here every day.
So if all the white voters jump from the UBP to OBA in 1 day what changed? If the OBA fronts black surrogates like the UBP what changed? NOTHING!
Fact!
Please do not impersonate me and please do not use my name to spew your political vitriol.
Vote UBPOBA if you want Bermuda to be controlled by a political party that uses black surrogates.
Once again, please do not impersonate me and please do not use my name to spew your political vitriol.
Vote PLP if want Bermuda to be controlled by the muppets.
Why do you people want to impersonate me? Go harass someone who makes political posts.
Vote Joe Bloggs for a better Bermuda. Forget the worthless OBA party.
“Vote Joe Bloggs”
Which one? Me or some troll?
I would vote for the real Joe Bloggs. Are you going to run on the Bean’s party ticket?
No. I remain non-political.
Notice how they never, ever address the issue at hand. Truth hurts for the sheep.
It’s called UBPOBAFDM LOL
