SPCA To Host Halloween Masquerade Ball
The Bermuda SPCA will hold its annual Halloween Masquerade Ball fundraiser on October 26 at Norwood.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals [SPCA] is thrilled to announce its annual Halloween Masquerade Ball fundraiser on October 26 at Norwood. This exciting event is crucial in raising the necessary funds to support the care and well-being of animals across the island.
“The SPCA provides a range of essential services to the Bermuda community, including the Compassionate Class Program, which teaches students about responsible pet ownership and empathy; TheraTails, our animal-assisted therapy program helping individuals overcome emotional challenges; and the CatSnip and DogSnip programs aimed at managing the island’s pet population.

“We also offer financial assistance to families in need, a pet food bank, and a rehoming service for surrendered animals.”
April Augustus, Executive Director of the Bermuda SPCA, said, “Our work is more than just rescuing animals; it’s about ensuring their future. It costs over $1.2 million annually to run the shelter, covering veterinary care, spay/neuter surgeries, food, and housing. Community support through events like this is what keeps our doors open.”
The spokesperson said, “The Halloween Masquerade Ball aims to raise $100,000, which will directly fund medical care, shelter, and enrichment for the animals. These funds are critical to sustaining the SPCA’s operations and ensuring the safety and well-being of hundreds of animals awaiting their forever homes.
“Join us for the Halloween Masquerade Ball, a night of celebration and support for the Bermuda SPCA. The event will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Norwood. Our goal is to raise $100,000 to fund essential programs and provide care for animals in need. Enjoy a live auction, raffles, great food, music, dancing, and a cash bar. Don’t forget, the last day to purchase tickets is October 23.
