Racehorse Bermuda Longtail shed her maiden tag after winning the Unibet Zero Mission/British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Kempton Park in Surrey, England, yesterday [October 30].

Ridden by Jason Watson, wearing the pink and navy-blue silks, Bermuda Longtail went off at 7-4 in the seven-furlong race in a field of ten runners.

The two-year-old filly, who finished second on her debut at Kempton a few weeks ago, led the race from start to finish in a performance described as “perfect” by Simon Scupham, the Bermuda Racing chairman.

“She broke well and led from the start all the way to the finish, hardly breaking into a sweat,” he said.

“So much to look forward to, particularly since she showed us tonight that she can step up in distance to a mile.

“There are, of course, some important races over this distance that could come into play as a three-year-old!”

Since forming more than a decade ago, Bermuda Racing has owned several Bermuda-themed horses, including Johnny Barnes, Queen Of Bermuda, Horseshoe Bay and Flora Of Bermuda.
