Sam Williamson Sets Swimming Record

Sam Williamson, representing the University of Bath, competed at the British Universities and Colleges Swimming [BUCS] short course championships held at the Ellesmere Centre in Sheffield, England.

Williamson participated in three individual medley events and the 200m breaststroke. In the open/male 200m individual medley preliminaries, he finished ninth overall with a time of 2:02.72, advancing to the A final and breaking the Bermuda short course record previously held by Stephen Fahy since March 23rd, 2000.

Williamson further improved his record in the 200m individual medley A final, finishing seventh with a time of 2:01.52. He also competed in the 400m individual medley, winning his heat and finishing tenth overall with a time of 4:24.70.

In the 100m individual medley, Williamson placed 13th in the heats with a time of 56.29, qualifying for the B final. He finished fifth in the B final, clocking a time of 56.10.

Williamson concluded his competition schedule with the 200m breaststroke preliminaries, finishing 22nd overall with a time of 2:19.85.
