Elijah Daley Breaks 10 Year Old Record
Elijah Daley set a new record while representing the University of Toronto on the opening day of the 2026 Ontario University Championships.
Competing at the Athletic Centre Varsity Pool, Daley participated in the men’s 100 short course meter breaststroke. He advanced to the A Final after finishing eighth in the preliminaries with a personal-best time of 1:02.15.
In the evening A Final, Daley placed fifth and lowered his time to 1:01.26. The performance broke the previous record of 1:01.56 set by Julian Fletcher on December 5, 2016, at the FINA World Swimming Championships in Windsor, Ontario.
Daley is in his first year competing at the university level.
