Two New Exhibits Opening At BSoA On Nov 15
There are two new exhibits opening at the Bermuda Society of Arts [BSoA] on Friday, November 15 from 5.00pm to 7.00pm, with the exhibitions set to run until December 10 at 4 pm.
A spokesperson said, “In the Onions Gallery, we will present ‘Abstract,’ a retrospective of the late artist Paul Doughty, curated by his son and photographer James Doughty. This exhibition highlights Paul Doughty’s significant contributions to the art world. Alongside ‘Abstract’ will be ‘Concept 50 and Beyond,’ an exhibition celebrating the artistic achievements of individuals aged 50 and above.
“This showcase delves into the relationship between nature and the human form, providing a platform for established artists to share their unique perspectives.The exhibition will pay homage to the late Bermudian artist Paul Doughty. Works featured by artists, Antoine Hunt, Michele Smith, John Kaufman, Christina Hutchings, Charles Zuill, John Gardner, Sue Stephenson and Scott King.
“Additionally, the Edinburgh Gallery will feature ‘Do you like it or do you love it?’ An exhibition of portraits by Charlotte Shreeve. Charlotte Schreeve’s portraits capture the unique energy and individuality of her subjects. Working in graphite, charcoal, and mixed media, she invites viewers to connect with the emotions etched within each face.
“‘Do you like it or do you love it?’ marks Schreeve’s solo debut, reflecting her rediscovery of drawing as a grounding force. Through her art, she explores both the outward appearance and inner essence of her subjects.
“We invite you to join us for the opening reception on November 15 from 5 to 7 pm to celebrate these exciting exhibitions. Show will run until December 10 at 4pm.”
