Bacardi Limited hosted its 3rd annual ‘250 Holiday Meals’ initiative in partnership with the Salvation Army last week Thursday.

A spokesperson said, “As part of the Company’s ongoing commitment to serving the communities in which it operates, Bacardi volunteers served 250 hot meals to individuals and families in need at the Salvation Army’s North Street citadel in Hamilton, providing warmth, nourishment, and holiday cheer to those facing challenging times.

“The meals, prepared by local eatery Soul Food Grill and Café, featured a festive menu of holiday favorites, including turkey, ham, macaroni and cheese, yams, and desserts prepared and donated by Bacardi volunteers.”

Douglas Mello, Managing Director of Bacardi International Limited, reflected on the event, “Supporting our community is a cornerstone of who we are at Bacardi. It was truly heartwarming to see the joy and gratitude shared during this initiative. The holiday season is a time to come together, and we are honored to partner with the Salvation Army to make a meaningful impact for individuals and families in need.”

A spokesperson added, “This year’s initiative came at a crucial time, as the Salvation Army faced unprecedented challenges in meeting the increasing demand for its services. The organization, which supports between 600 and 800 people weekly, has been working tirelessly to address growing needs despite financial constraints.”

Major Darryl Simms of the Salvation Army expressed his gratitude, “Bacardi’s continued support through the ‘250 Holiday Meals’ initiative is an incredible blessing to the community. Their generosity not only fills plates but also lifts spirits during the holiday season. We are thankful for their partnership and unwavering dedication to giving back.”

A spokesperson added, “Bacardi encourages others to join in supporting the Salvation Army’s mission. Donations of urgently needed pantry items, including canned goods, milk, oatmeal, and tea, can still be dropped off at the Salvation Army North Street citadel from 9 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday.”
