Win Gift Vouchers In BEDC ‘Eat, Shop, Play’
The Bermuda Economic Development Corporation [BEDC] announced the return of its “Eat, Shop, Play” Shop to Win Draw, running from Monday, December 9th through Monday, January 6th.
A spokesperson said, “This initiative invites the public to explore and support businesses in Bermuda’s Economic Empowerment Zones [EEZs], including Somerset, North East Hamilton, South East Hamilton, and St. George’s. By spending $20 or more at any participating business, shoppers will have the chance to win $500, $300, or $200 gift vouchers to spend at their favorite participating locations.
“The “Eat, Shop, Play” initiative was designed to encourage the community to think beyond the usual shopping districts and discover the vibrant businesses in the EEZs. By promoting these areas, BEDC hopes to drive economic activity, foster community connections, and reignite interest in businesses that are often overlooked.”
Donte Hunt, Director of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise, highlights the program’s impact, saying, “Eat, Shop, Play encourages everyone to experience the unique and diverse businesses in our EEZs. This initiative supports local entrepreneurs, strengthens community ties, and helps create opportunities for sustainable growth in these areas.”
The spokesperson said, “In addition to rewarding customers, the initiative benefits the participating businesses. The business where the grand prize winner shops will receive an additional $500 voucher, further supporting the entrepreneurs who make these areas special.”
Ondreyah Rochester and Dennis Carter, MSME Officers for Somerset and St. George’s, respectively, shared, “Eat, Shop, Play is about showcasing the rich variety of businesses within the EEZs. This initiative highlights how shopping locally can create meaningful impact. By participating, the public is not only entering to win great prizes but also helping to drive economic activity in these vital zones.”
The spokesperson said, “To participate, spend $20 or more at any participating business located in Somerset, North East Hamilton, South East Hamilton, or St. George’s between December 9th and January 6th. Once the purchase is made, upload a photo or confirmation of the receipt using the online form available on the BEDC website. The receipt will automatically enter participants into the Shop to Win Draw, with winners announced on January 13th, 2025.
