Bermuda Sailors Continue In Argentina
Bermuda’s young sailors faced strong competition in the opening rounds of the Optimist World Championship Team Racing event in Argentina. The team gained valuable experience in the challenging format that features four-boat teams competing in tactical short races.
In their first match against Chile, the team battled hard. While Chile ultimately secured the win, Bermuda’s Sebastian Gotfredsen, Christian Davis, and Magnus Power gained crucial experience racing against top international sailors. Sarah Savage demonstrated strong skills, finishing eighth.
The team then faced a skilled team from Turkey. Savage, Power, and Gotfredsen sailed finished fourth, fifth, and sixth, while Davis finished eighth.
Savage, Davis, Amaradasa, and Gotfredsen then took on Ireland with Ireland finishing ahead of Bermuda.
