Holiday Waste Collection Schedule Announced
The Ministry of Public Works advised the public of upcoming waste and recycling collection day changes over the Christmas and New Year Holidays.
A Government spokesperson said, “This year, Christmas Day and Boxing Day fall on Wednesday, 25 December, and Thursday, 26 December.
“As a result, Wednesday’s waste will be collected on Friday, 27th, and Thursday and Friday’s waste will be collected on Saturday, 28th. Waste collection on Monday, the 23rd, and Tuesday, the 24th, will be unaffected by the holidays.
“Christmas week is a recycling collection week. Therefore, recycling collection days will change; west-end recycling will be collected on Friday, the 27th and east-end recycling will be collected on Saturday, the 28th.
“The New Year holiday falls on Wednesday, January 1st, pushing Wednesday’s waste collection to Thursday, the 2nd; Thursday’s collection to Friday, the 3rd; and Friday’s collection to Saturday, the 4th.
“New Year’s week is not a recycling collection week.
