Government Sending Household Mailers
The Government advised today that “two household mailers providing the public with information of the most recent initiatives and programmes planned to assist the community will be landing in mailboxes across the island in the upcoming days and weeks.”
A Government spokesperson said, “The mailers share highlights of the Mid-Year Budget Review and outline pledges contained in November’s Throne Speech.
“Back in September, the Premier and Minister of Finance, the Hon. David Burt, JP, MP, announced the Mid Year Budget Review, and unveiled a comprehensive and far reaching $25 million package of support aimed at addressing the island’s most critical social needs.”
The Premier said at the time, “This Government upholds the promises that we make to the people of Bermuda. That is why I am proud to announce an investment package of $25 million that reflects our commitment to invest in tackling the social challenges facing Bermuda. This package will provide significant additional resources to tackle mental health throughout all segments of our community.
“We must confront the growing challenge of mental health, and this Government will ensure that mental health resources are more accessible, and support is available for those who need it, helping to reduce stigma and provide healing in our community. Tied to mental health, we will also expand substance abuse and intervention programmes. Our goal is simple: to ensure that Bermuda’s economic progress is felt by all Bermudians. We will not stop working until we achieve this vision. Whether by enhancing public services, reducing prices, improving public safety, or improving mental health services, we are committed to taking action now.”
A Government spokesperson added, “And in last month’s Throne Speech, the Government introduced an ambitious legislative agenda with plans to introduce key legislation to address healthcare, education, youth, seniors, affordable housing, cost of living, the environment, and the economy.
“The household mailers are just one of ways that the Government is seeking to engage with residents and provide them with key information about the numerous programmes and policies being implemented to support Bermudians. This is in addition to its digital, traditional and social media outreach.
“In the interest of maintaining its commitment to paperless, the Government has also produced e-versions of the mailers, one of which can be found at www.gov.bm/budget.”

This is spun propaganda that you the taxpayer have to pay for printing and delivering..
Yesterday they can’t fix the dangerous roads.
Despicable tax payer funded electioneering. Mine went straight into the garbage.
Who is paying for this plp election marketing program . Another example of wasting taxpayers hard earned money. Should have given half to Salvation Army and the other half to fix pot holes…Simple stuff if you have half a brain
“Who is paying for this plp election marketing program ”
We are. “We” being every taxpayer in Bermuda.
It’s 30-6 and the oba is busy doing nothing.
Try and keep up. It’s 29 -7 and it’s not the OBA doing nothing, it’s the PLP doing nothing and they are supposedly the Government.
Who’s the OBA? Oh you mean the UBPoba circus that uses clowns.
He might have meant the UBPLP, the party with former UBP leaders Wayne Furbert and Kim Swan.
Ringmaster?
Correct, plus several ex UBP MPs.
The UBP/OBA likes to use them black boyz to win election. Looks like you just lost Vic.
The OBA is the former plp…try to keep up.
The oba will win in 30 years.
Interesting. I wonder what percentage of that mail will be delivered by the post office? All this information could have been posted on the Governnment’s website.
Oh, “investing” is a government euphemism for TAXES. I bet not one politician would invest their own money in these ventures.
If it gets cold enough, politicians might actually put their hands on their own pockets.
What a waste of time and resources. SMH. Nobody looks at this rubbish.
Bermuda election time is drawing close and you the public are paying for it from your tax dollars that is not fair as it appears that we are being bought and payed for.
Our money is intended for national maintenance, improvements and infrastructure. ( the airport Bailey bridge ) and not electioneering funding as contra social issues go to Westgate to deal with that.
“Spare the rod and spoil the child. ”
The USA political parties each fund their own political elections.
The disolution of national debt issue is the higher priority which benefit every body .
