Women’s Prayer Service To Be Held On Friday
A prayer service for women is set to be held on Friday [Dec 27] at the Church of God Glory Temple in St. David’s.
A spokesperson said, “Saphire Faith International Ministries, a mother/daughter ministry founded six years ago by Rev. Dr. Marlene Flynn and her daughter, Chaplain Shaunte Simons, invites women to gather for a sacred time of prayer, lamentation, and intercession.
“This is a clarion call for the mighty hand of God to move on Bermuda.
“In light of the challenges and growing violence facing our island, the women of Bermuda are being called to come together for corporate prayer, lamentation, and intercession before the Lord. This sacred time of prayer is scheduled for Friday, December 27, 2024 from 9:00pm to midnight at Church of God Glory Temple, St. David’s.
“As we reflect on the weight of recent events, this call echoes the words of Jeremiah 9:17–18:
“Consider now! Call for the wailing women to come; send for the most skillful of them. Let them come quickly and wail over us till our eyes overflow with tears and water streams from our eyelids.”
“This evening of prayer is an opportunity for women to gather in unity to:
- Weep for our nation: Bermuda has experienced unprecedented violence, grief, and loss. This is a time to mourn and cry out to God for healing.
- Stand in the gap: as Ezekiel 22:30 reminds us, God seeks those who will stand in the gap and build up the hedge of righteousness.
- Rebuild and restore: women are invited to be repairers of broken walls and restorers of streets with dwellings, as declared in Isaiah 58:12.
“Event details:
- Date: Friday, December 27, 2024
- Time: Prayer begins at 9:00pm. Participants are encouraged to arrive by 8:45pm to settle in
- Location: Church of God Glory Temple, 5 Wescott Road, St. David’s [take the left immediately across from the old White’s Supermarket building - blue church in the fall]
“This gathering is not just a moment of prayer but a divine call to action. Death may be in the house, but the God of restoration is at the door. Together, we will cry out to Him for mercy, healing, and transformation for our families, communities, and nation.
“Women of all ages are welcome to join this solemn yet powerful time of prayer. Let us rise to rebuild the hedge and cry out until His healing comes.
“Some may ask, ‘why St. David’s? – in this cold weather? – why such short notice?’ But, this is no ordinary gathering – it’s a corporate call to our women to seek God with all our hearts.
“This is not about convenience, timing, or location. It’s about aligning ourselves with God’s purpose and crying out for His hand to move on Bermuda.
