Somerset Pay Tribute To Cordell Brangman
Somerset Cricket Club have paid tribute to their groundsman Cordell “Herbie” Bangman, who has recently passed away.
Richard Scott, the Somerset president, wrote on social media: “Today the SCC family is saddened to hear of the passing of one of our dedicated groundsman Mr Cordell “Herbie” Brangman.
“Anyone who has been around SCC for any length of time, would know that Herbie was a staple name with the grounds for years.
“Recently, his health dictated a much rather scaled back version – working under the guided hand of close friend Mr Reid Jones, but no less dedicated as he was amongst the team recognised by the BCB as grounds staff of the year for the 2024 cricket season.
“Herbie will be a sure miss with the field preparations, as well as, any assistance that was needed around the club. His contributions over the years will be remembered indeed.
“We, the officers and members of SCC, offer and express our sincere prayers to the Brangman and Swan families. May God comfort you all during this difficult time.”
