Bryce Montgomery Helps Bison Earn Shutout
Bryce Montgomery helped the Bloomington Bison earn their first shutout win after defeating the Kalamazoo Wings 3-0 at home in the ECHL yesterday [January 11].
Montgomery, who has been assigned to the Bison by National Hockey League [NHL] team the Carolina Hurricanes, scored the first regular season goal in the Bison’s history in a 4-2 win over the Toledo Walleye in October.
The Bison, founded last year, are making their debut in the ECHL this season.
Montgomery, a 6ft 5in 231-pound defenceman, was drafted by the Hurricanes in the sixth round NHL Entry Draft in 2021.
His younger brother, Blake Montgomery, was drafted by NHL team the Ottawa Senators in June last year.
Blake currently plays for the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League [OHL].
