Ralph Scott Leads IMG Varsity To Title
Ralph Scott and his IMG Varsity Gold team-mates claimed their bracket championship at the Governors Challenge Basketball tournament in Salisbury, Maryland, defeating St Francis [NY] 72-64 in the final on December 29.
Scott played three matches in the competition, which began on December 26, averaging 15 minutes per game.
The 6ft 7in wing/power forward, who helped his team win their first significant honour, said he hopes the title will be a “stepping stone” for him to build upon.
“The travel and game schedule were hectic, but the team was able to meet the challenge, and the reward was worth the effort,” Scott said. “I still have a lot to learn.”
A former Warwick Academy student, Scott holds a 3.7 GPA and plans to pursue an engineering degree in combination with his basketball aspirations.
