Shaun Goater’s Aston Villa Win FA Cup Tie
Shaun Goater’s Aston Villa Women thrashed Bristol Rovers Women 9-0 at home in the fourth round of the FA Cup yesterday [January 12].
Gabriela Da Silva scored a hat-trick, Rachel Daly bagged a brace, with Paula Tomás, Chasity Grant, Kirsty Hanson and Jill Baijings also on the scoresheet.
Goater took charge of the Women’s Super League [WSL] side on an interim basis last month, replacing Dutchman Robert de Pauw, having previously served on his coaching staff.
The 54-year-old Goater, who holds a Uefa A licence coaching badge, has previously coached North Village in the Bermudian Premier Division and English non-league sides Ilkeston and New Mills.
Villa are away to Everton in the league on Saturday.
