Independent Candidate Rayki Bascome-Emery — who will be running in Constituency #22 Paget East — is holding a press conference this afternoon [Jan 24]. We will have additional coverage later on and in the meantime the live video is below.
As a note, we do apologize and we extend our thanks to Rayki Bascome-Emery, as we had a bit of a crisis and were super late to his press conference, so he has kindly agreed to do another one for us!
We are mentioning that because if you notice you don’t hear a lot of questions that is not as Mr Bascome-Emery would not answer them, it is our fault as we rather unceremoniously arrived late, however the BBC has been kind enough to loan us some video of their questions from the original press conference, so we will post that later as well.

When you step in front of a camera get it right … No vision on the cost of living. Why are things expensive in Bermuda? We import everything that has been marked up overseas, cost of local services have gone up and will go up as indeed the minimum wage helped to push it up because nobody said where the increase in money was coming from so it was passed on to the consumer. Good luck trying to get it down. Maybe if you pushed hydroponic gardening with farmers leading it , and not treated likr enemies as the PLP have done, we could get food cost down. Catching feral chickens would add to the supply of eggs. Compulsory gardening for schools and prisoners would help and the list goes on. We expect more from candidates who want to lead us but first they need to drop the rhetoric and show us what they are doing once they are sure if it is day or night. Ouch. Now I sound just like him when he is on his platform about the govt but he forgot real solutions. He has to untied his shoe lacens. Another onr who will disappear after the election when the work begins.
Before you throw stones at this young man. Lets consider the oba, who changes the majority of their candidates after every election loss.
