Nominations Open For WRC Woman Of Year
The Women’s Resource Centre [WRC] and the International Women’s Day Bermuda Committee [IWD] announced that nominations are now open for the 2025 Woman of the Year Award.
A spokesperson said, “This prestigious award recognises exceptional Bermudian women who have made outstanding contributions to their community, careers, and the advancement of women’s issues.
Public Nomination Process
“For the first time, the IWD Committee has opened the nomination process to the public, encouraging members of the community to recognise and celebrate outstanding women in Bermuda. Nominations will be accepted until 5:00 PM on Monday, 10th February 2025.”
A spokeswoman for the IWD Committee, said: “We have been celebrating International Women’s Day in Bermuda since 2016, and one of the most exciting highlights of this celebration is announcing our annual Woman of the Year. This year, we are thrilled to open the nomination process to the public, giving everyone the opportunity to actively participate in honouring the incredible achievements of women in Bermuda.”
“We have established clear eligibility criteria to focus nominations on Bermudian women who have made meaningful contributions to our community, whether through voluntary service, professional accomplishments, or advocacy efforts. We are eager to see the public’s nominations and to celebrate the extraordinary women shaping our society.”
Eligibility Criteria
“To be eligible for nomination, candidates must meet the following non-negotiable criteria:
“1.Gender Identification: The nominee must be a woman or identify as female.
“2.Citizenship: The nominee must be Bermudian.
“3.Community Contributions:
- “The nominee must have demonstrated significant contributions to the Bermuda community, either through voluntary service, professional achievements, or advocacy work.
- “The nominee’s efforts must reflect a positive and measurable impact on the lives of others, particularly in areas related to women’s empowerment, social justice, education, health, or cultural development.
Nomination Review and Announcement
“All nominations will be reviewed by the IWD Selection Committee. The recipient of the 2025 Woman of the Year Award will be announced at the International Women’s Day Celebration on Friday, 7th March 2025.

“The nomination form requires detailed information about the nominee’s career, personal achievements, and community contributions, as well as a brief explanation of why the individual is being nominated.
