North Village Rams & St. George’s Colts Win
Footballers in the Premier Division were in action this weekend, with North Village Rams and St. George’s Colts both earning wins.
North Village Rams 1 – Dandy Town Hornets 0
North Village Rams claimed a 2-0 victory over league leaders Dandy Town Hornets in a top-of-the-table clash at Bernard’s Park.
The first half remained goalless, with both teams battling for control in a tense encounter. However, the Rams broke the deadlock in the 66th minute when Jai Bean converted a penalty. They then doubled their lead just seven minutes later, with Jonte Smith finding the back of the net from a cross.
St. George’s Colts 4 – Young Men Social Club 1
St. George’s Colts continued their impressive run of form in the Premier Division with a resounding 4-1 victory over Young Men Social Club at the Wellington Oval.
The Colts took an early lead in the 13th minute through an own goal, but Young Men Social Club quickly responded, leveling the score just one minute later through Mical Hardtman.
However, St. George’s regained their composure and took control of the match. Senoj Mitchell restored their lead in the 37th minute, and Blaiz Hall extended the advantage to 3-1 just before half-time with a well-taken goal.
Hall then added his second of the game early in the second half, securing a comfortable 4-1 lead for the Colts.
