Crime Stoppers Weekend Film Experience
Crime Stoppers Bermuda will hold their 8th Annual Weekend Film Experience from February 27 to March 2 at the BUEI Auditorium.
A spokesperson said, “Crime Stoppers Bermuda’s 8th Annual Weekend Film Experience is being held from February 27 – March 2 at the BUEI Auditorium. This is the local charities major fundraiser.
“The film line-up this year will include four Oscar & BAFTA nominated feature films, and in early February 2025, BAFTA announced the 2025 winners. Three of our films our films picked up awards in the following categories: Anora’s Mikey Madison won BAFTA’s Leading Actress, Conclave won BAFTA’s Best film, and Adrien Brody won best Actor in the The Brutalist. This year’s family film Flow is to be shown on the Saturday afternoon during the film weekend.
“For the first time Crime Stoppers will also feature, three independent films that have Bermudian producers, Sia Spence, Wendy Tucker Tannock and SJD World Ltd.
“The Waterboyz: follows Drew as he tries to navigate the rough and tumble streets of ATL.
“Bull Street: follows LouEster Sadie Gibbs as she finds out whether her lifelong home really is her birthright, or if the handshake transfer of land doesn’t hold up in court.
“Thoughts Become Things: joins a young Bermudian Gombey on a breathtaking journey as he encounters his ancestors.
“PTIX and BUEI Gift Shop are where the public can purchase tickets for this upcoming weekend of Oscar and BAFTA films alongside the Bermuda Producers three films.
“Funds raised from this year fundraiser will help support Crime Stoppers’ anonymous phone line and website that ‘Give people the power to speak up and Stop Crime’.”
